Meet our Guest Designer for our First Maxi Kit – March 2010!
 
This month we have the absolute pleasure of having Vinnie as our Guest Designer for our first Maxi Kit!

 
 

My name is Virginie Ventura Mercadal but best known on the Web under the name Vinnie. I’m French but have Spanish surnames (the story of my family is a real soap opera … my father was Catalan, Barcelona and Vietnamese mother … my husband is from Spanish origin … a great mix!). Many say that I’m 33 years old but I assure you that I’m 25 … I have 2 sons, Rafael 6 years old and Roman, 2 and a half. We live in the South-West of France near Bordeaux (Bordeaux).

 I started scrapbooking almost 6 years ago. For some time I was looking for a style that lets me to express myself but mostly to have fun! That’s the most important for me.

 
How do you get the inspiration when you start a project?
I don’t know!  It just comes out just how you see them on my blog. My scrapper friends make jokes saying that I must have someone else doing the work for me because I always come up with something different.
 
Describe your style

I think I have no particular style, namely I like to try all kind of styles. I especially love the Freestyle because it allows to create with no limits but sometimes I dare to do things more C & S (without success hahahaha!)
 
How do you start a project?
I start almost always with the picture. And 90% of the time I first adhere my picture on the cardstock… then I think what to do! It sounds crazy right?
 
In general how long does it take to finish a project?
Depends on my mood and the project. For a LO it can take from 20 or 30 minutes to 2 days hahaha! And for a Mini Book a couple of hours or a week …
 
Do you ever use recycled material?
Yes, and I love it! I use to keep all kind of boxes, fabrics, tapes, labels, buttons etc. There’s a corner on my scrap table full of these little things. I don’t like to throw away things that could have some potential even when I can’t see right away what kind of potential! Once I kept a Nivea cream tin for 8 months before it became a Mini Book!

Me llamo Virginie Ventura Mercadal pero me conocen en la Web bajo nombre de Vinnie. Soy francesa aunque tenga apellidos españoles (la historia de mi familia es un verdadero culebròn … mi padre era catalàn, de Barcelona y mi madre vietnamita… mi marido es de origen española también … ¡una espléndida mezcla ¡). Muchos dicen que tengo 33 años pero os aseguro que me siento 25 … Tengo 2 hijos, Rafael de 6años y Roman de 2 y medio. Vivimos en el Sur-Oeste de Francia, cerca de Burdeos (Bordeaux).
 
Empezé con el scrapbooking hace casi 6 años. Busqué durante un momento un estilo que me permita expresarme pero sobre todo divertirme, es lo esencial para mì.
 
Como nace tu inspiración al empezar un trabajo?
¡Esto no lo sé! Las cosas salen de mi tal como las véis en mi blog. Mis amigas scraperas se burlan de mi diciendo que tengo trabajadores clandestinos que hacen el trabajo para mi porque hago cosas siempre diferentes…
 
Describe tu estilo
Creo que no tengo estilo particular o sea que me gusta experimentar todos los estilos. Tengo especial cariño con el Freestyle porque permite crea sin limites ni barreras pero a veces me atrevo a cosas màs C&S (sin hacertarlas nunca jajaja ¡)
 
Cuando haces un proyecto por donde empiezas?
Casi siempre empiezo por la foto. Y en 90% de los casos pegar mi foto en un cardstock es la primera cosa que hago… ¡Luego voy pensando en qué hacer! Parece una locura ¿verdad?
 
En general cuanto tiempo te toma terminar un proyecto?
Pues depende de mi ànimo y del proyecto. Para un LO puedo tardar 20 o 30 minutos como 2 dias ¡jajaja! Y para un minibook un par de horas o una semana…
 
Te gusta hacer scrap con material reciclado?
¡Eso si me encanta¡ Suelo guardar cajitas, telas, cintas, etiquetas, botones… el rincon donde tengo mi mesa està lleno de cosillas recuperadas. No me gusta tirar las cosas que tienen algùn potencial, aunque dicho potencial no se vea de inmediato. Una vez guardé una cajita de crema Nivea 8 meses antes de pensar bien en ella y transformarla en minibook.
