Vintage flowers

Petra van Osch

Two weeks ago I went to a vintage workshop by Chimene Vink. She makes wonderful vintage layouts with beautiful flowers. She inspired me to make some vintage flowers myself. As December is a busy month you might have not enough time to scrap complete layouts and/or albums but when you have some spare time, making some flowers for your future projects might be fun to do. I hope you can use these ideas!

Let me start by showing one of the workshops layouts I made.

To create the flower Chimene advised to use double-sided paper. You just cut a piece of paper 12” by about 2”. Fold it in half and then crumble it and make a circle. I really loved this flower.

Also the idea of using old pattern paper which was used for designing clothes was very nice.

Let me tell you what materials I’ve used for my flowers:

cupcake holder, piece of paper from a dictionary, fabric, buttons, pin and spray-paint and chalk

coffee filter, stazon ink + water, butterfly from previous Scrap-Club kit which I made brown with Stazon, label, flower

fabric circles (folded in half: 2 times!), felt flower (I almost peeled off the top layer  of the felt), Christmas bell

made by my friend Anne to decorate her gift, she used a paper from a book, chalk and foam tape

paper from the Scrap-Club December kit, fabric, clear button, alcohol ink, chalk

cupecake holder, paper lace, vintage button and glimmer mist

and for this flower I used paper from a dictionary, I punched squares, used lots of chalk and started to fold the pieces like this

I finished the flower with a button and some string
