To add or not to add…

Monique Helfrich

When is a page finished? What to add or not to add? It’s as personal as your own scrapbooking style; so nothing is wrong and everything is okay if you like it yourself!

Take this for example. For “I survived the Jungle River” I added all the buttons of the May kit and didn’t plan to add anything.

But after all I was not satisfied and thought it was too empty. So I added the embroidery floss in the buttons and later also between the buttons to make it look more water splashing.

Mwhaaaaa…. maybe it would look even more better when I added some white puffy paint dots and made the “iekkkk” part less blue …. What do you think? Did all those add-ons improve the layout or not? Which do you like best?  (I wish I never had changed the first one)

To add or not to add, that’s the question and for this one I guess the answer is: not to add.

Wishing you all a happy weekend and I’m off to see what I can add on the June layouts ;)

well, I like the first and the last. I think you successed to create a ‘water’ feeling but as you said it is so very personally. If I were you I would scrap this photo again, in a totally diffrent way. I know the feeling too… it happens in the best families…
my DH says less is more (and now also my photography teacher)…dont know if it counts by scrapping ;)

I go for layout number 3 because I like it that’s there a connection between the (GREAT and FUN) picture and the buttons because of your floss and paint.
It also makes my eye follow the line from the picture to the title.
So in my opinion: you did a great job!

Love the last one too!! the doodling makes the connection between the picture and the buttons and title. In my opinion it makes it “rustiger”to look at.
But there’s a personal taste to it.In the end only counts what the person who creates it thinks of it I guess.
