I wanted to share this idea with you:

In January Astrid Samuels, our artist of the month, gave birth to her beautiful son Tristan. I wanted to make her a special card so I decided to use the picture she showed on the gallery. (No I didn’t ask for permission as I wanted it to be a surprise…. sorry Astrid …)

I started to change the picture, using Picasa2 a programme you can download from Google and which is super easy to use, into black&white and played with the different options to create an effect like a drawing. Then I changed my printersettings (using less inkt) and printed the picture directly onto the Elsie fabric paper.

I was very pleased with the effect and made a border by layering ribbons and buttons. The buttons come from a cute foliage bag of buttons from Autumn Leaves.

Next time I hope I can share a technique using paint as I will go to the workshop of Corinne Delis (former design team member of Scrap-Club) and Céline Navarro (former guest designer of Scrap-Club) next Sunday in Utrecht. I can’t wait to find out what these super-talented ladies will teach me. And maybe I will meet some of you girls over there too??!!
